Spread Rate Beetles are capable of flight, one generation per year which helps to limit population growth. The adults overwinter in protected areas so that opens up the possibility to hitchhike in RVs, rolled leaves, beehives, etc. 4
Spread Amount Native to Asia, Europe and N. Africa; first found in US in MI early 1960's, Canada soon after; since 1979, slowly expanded range to most states east of the Mississippi. Mid–1980’s, found in UT then MT and ID. CA conditions should be conducive to survival. 4
